This lens shows light cosmetic wear consistent with normal handling. There are a few small scuffs on the barrel and minor rub marks around the mount and rings, plus some sticker residue on the body. No dents or significant paint loss are visible, and the markings remain clean and legible.
How this lens renders
Compared to other same-spec telephoto lenses in the 135mm Minolta lineup, the MD 135mm f/3.5 (New-MD, 1981) is the most compact and easy-to-carry version. Its appeal lies in value for money and a lightweight body — you can sling it around your neck and shoot all day. As for sharpness, wide open at f/3.5 it's perfectly usable straight away. The image still holds detail well. Once you stop down to f/5.6, it gets noticeably sharper. (This one isn't as critically sharp as its bigger siblings like the f/2.8 or f/2.0, but at this focal length it's more than enough for portrait work.) The bokeh melts the background soft and smooth — no distracting rings, no harshness. With the 135mm focal length, it helps push the background into a naturally creamy blur. You can get a touch of vignetting wide open to help your subject pop, and it fades as you stop down. Ideal for anyone after a lightweight manual focus telephoto at an accessible price — great for practicing portraits or just soaking in the atmosphere. The most practical and best-value pick in the family.
