Collector-grade lens. Another outstanding wide-angle lens, widely regarded as a reference for architectural photography. Despite the wide 20mm, it shows zero distortion (0%). This is the Multicoat version with a maximum aperture of f/2.8 — a rare piece, well worth collecting. The optics are flawless, with no scratches. The focus and aperture rings turn as smoothly as on a brand-new lens. Internal components are solid and tight, with no play or rattle inside. The exterior body is in like-new condition — no scratches, no scuffs, no paint loss.

How this lens renders

Compared to wide-angle lenses of the same era and spec, what makes this one memorable is its remarkably close minimum focus distance, paired with especially outstanding center sharpness. Wide open at close range, it still delivers impressively crisp detail. At longer distances, the center is slightly soft wide open, then sharpens up clearly when you stop down to f/4. The bokeh is smooth and gentle, with a depth of field thinner than you'd expect wide open—melting the background softly without being so busy that it distracts the eye. The colors are quite lovely and pleasant to work with (there's a faint greenish tint only at the very corners on some cameras). This MC version handles flare remarkably well, even when shooting directly into the sun. A fun element to play with is the vignetting—pronounced wide open and gradually fading as you stop down. Great for controlling mood and framing the image. It's a wide-angle vintage lens that's both a pleasure to shoot with and worthy of collecting.
