How we gradeInspector’s condition notes
Lens in good condition, suitable for Fuji Nex cameras (APS-C). When mounted, it becomes an excellent portrait lens at 75mm f/4. The optics are perfect with no scratches. Focus turns smoothly throughout the full range from minimum focus distance to infinity, but has slight stiffness in some sections. The exterior body shows signs of use, with visible scratches and paint loss throughout the lens.
How this lens renders
The Minolta Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.4 stands out among its peers for its compelling value and notable bokeh. Shooters appreciate its generally smooth and unobtrusive out-of-focus areas, with the 6-7 blade aperture providing reasonably circular shapes when stopped down. Compared to a typical fast fifty of its era, this lens offers characteristically warm colors with an amber bias that flatters skin tones, although blues lean toward cyan. It delivers excellent center sharpness even wide open, peaking between f/5.6 and f/8. However, a known limitation is its moderate to pronounced vignetting at wider apertures, though this diminishes significantly when stopped down.
