Carl Zeiss Flektogon
The Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 20mm f/4 is an ultra-wide-angle lens from East Germany, one of the widest manual focus lenses available in M42 mount. Its retrofocus design delivers relatively well-corrected images for such an extreme focal length, with good center sharpness and manageable distortion. The f/4 maximum aperture limits low-light use but keeps the lens compact. Build quality is solid East German engineering. While less famous than its 35mm f/2.4 sibling, the 20mm Flektogon is an affordable way to achieve ultra-wide perspectives on adapted mirrorless cameras.
