How this lens renders

Compared to the 35mm lens of the same spec, this Distagon T* is the optical formula Zeiss designed for Rollei to produce. Its standout feature is the contrast, considered one of the best at the 35mm focal length. Even wide open at f/2.8, it delivers usable sharpness comparable to other good lenses. When you stop down to f/5.6–f/8, the sharpness tightens up further across the entire frame. Bokeh is another aspect many consider top-tier for this focal length. Backgrounds melt away smoothly, with pleasing tonal transitions, delivering the rare dimensionality of an authentic Zeiss lens. The image corners are clean, with reports indicating no noticeable vignetting even wide open.
