Lens is in good condition and fully functional. There are normal wear scratches around the lens body. The optics are pristine with no scratches. Focus and aperture are silky smooth, like new. Internal elements are solid with no play or rattle. The exterior shows honest use, with easily visible scratches and paint loss throughout the lens body.
How this lens renders
The Minolta Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.4 stands out among its peers for its compelling value and notable bokeh. Shooters appreciate its generally smooth and unobtrusive out-of-focus areas, with the 6-7 blade aperture providing reasonably circular shapes when stopped down. Compared to a typical fast fifty of its era, this lens offers characteristically warm colors with an amber bias that flatters skin tones, although blues lean toward cyan. It delivers excellent center sharpness even wide open, peaking between f/5.6 and f/8. However, a known limitation is its moderate to pronounced vignetting at wider apertures, though this diminishes significantly when stopped down.
