Inspector’s condition notes

The lens is in good condition. The optics are flawless with no scratches. The aperture works normally and can be adjusted fully, though it may feel slightly stiff or turn a bit slower than usual — but it still functions completely without any sticking. The filter thread is dented, so a filter cannot be attached. The exterior body of the lens shows signs of use, with scratches and paint loss easily visible all around the lens.

How this lens renders

The Minolta Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.4 stands out among its peers for its compelling value and notable bokeh. Shooters appreciate its generally smooth and unobtrusive out-of-focus areas, with the 6-7 blade aperture providing reasonably circular shapes when stopped down. Compared to a typical fast fifty of its era, this lens offers characteristically warm colors with an amber bias that flatters skin tones, although blues lean toward cyan. It delivers excellent center sharpness even wide open, peaking between f/5.6 and f/8. However, a known limitation is its moderate to pronounced vignetting at wider apertures, though this diminishes significantly when stopped down.
