Lens in like-new condition. Optical is perfect, no scratches. Focus and aperture glide smoothly like a new lens. Internal components are solid with no rattling sounds inside. The exterior body of the lens is in like-new condition, but there are a few spots of paint loss or 2-3 scratches around the lens barrel edges or near the focus ring and aperture ring (you have to look closely to notice them).
How this lens renders
The Canon FL 50mm f/1.4 has a classic rendering style, offering a slightly soft but pleasing character wide open, sharpening up nicely as you stop down. Its bokeh is smooth and creamy, especially when capturing portraits, isolating subjects beautifully against a softly blurred background.
