Lens in good condition. Optics are pristine, free of scratches. Focus and aperture glide smoothly like new. Internal components are tight, with no internal lens movement or sounds. The exterior shows use overall, with scratches and paint loss on the body. The numbers on the focus scale are not clearly legible; some are faded or missing.
How this lens renders
The Minolta Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.4 stands out among its peers for its compelling value and notable bokeh. Shooters appreciate its generally smooth and unobtrusive out-of-focus areas, with the 6-7 blade aperture providing reasonably circular shapes when stopped down. Compared to a typical fast fifty of its era, this lens offers characteristically warm colors with an amber bias that flatters skin tones, although blues lean toward cyan. It delivers excellent center sharpness even wide open, peaking between f/5.6 and f/8. However, a known limitation is its moderate to pronounced vignetting at wider apertures, though this diminishes significantly when stopped down.
