How we gradeInspector’s condition notes
Lens in like-new condition, fully functional, lightly used with only minor signs of use. If you know the Vivitar 1, you probably know the Soligor C/D — it was the flagship lens of both brands back in the day. This one stands out for shooting wide down to 24mm, and it also includes 1:3 macro (slide the aperture ring up/down to change modes). The optics are pristine, no scratches. Focus and aperture ring turn silky smooth, just like a new lens. Internal components are solid and tight — no internal lens rattle. The exterior body is like new, though there are 2–3 small paint chips or scratches along the lens barrel edges or around the focus ring and aperture ring area (you have to look closely to spot them).
How this lens renders
Compared to other zoom lenses in the 24-45mm range with similar specs, this Soligor C/D really stands out for its solid build quality — that authentic vintage feel you only get with older glass. Combined with its 1:3 macro function at 45mm, it covers a wide range of shooting in a single lens. On sharpness, wide open gives a slightly soft image, which is part of the lens's character. Stop down a touch and sharpness comes through immediately — detail resolution is excellent, all the way up to 9/10. The background bokeh melts nicely, delivering a pleasing, easy-on-the-eyes blur. And a standout feature that many people love is its beautiful, rich color rendition that captures tones naturally. This is a manual focus wide-to-normal zoom that genuinely delivers in real use — ideal for anyone wanting one lens that handles both landscapes and close-up macro work, at an accessible price. A practical option truly worth adding to a collection.
