Lens in collector's condition. No easily visible scratches. Very lightly used. Optical elements are perfect with no scratches. Focus and aperture operate as smooth as new. Internal components are solid, no internal rattle. The exterior body is in like-new condition — no scratches, no scuffs, no paint loss.
How this lens renders
Compared to a telephoto lens of the same spec from a German maker, this Voigtländer Super-Dynarex stands out for its top-tier build quality and faithful color rendition — at a price that's far more accessible than Zeiss or Leitz. Wide open at f/4, the center of the frame is sharp right away, while the edges lag a little. Once you stop down to f/5.6, the edges catch up and the lens enters a long sweet spot that extends out to f/8. The real highlight is the micro-contrast, which pulls texture and detail out beautifully and holds information well in the deep shadows. The tonality leans slightly warm in the midtones, with reds and earth tones that are especially rich and pleasing. Bokeh at f/4 melts the background away smoothly. The circular highlights are soft-edged with no distracting outlines, giving a clean, gentle rendering. The lens uses single-layer coating, so you can play with flare when shooting into the light — if you'd rather avoid it, just fit a deep lens hood. It also produces a touch of vignetting that helps frame the image wide open (fades as you stop down to f/5.6–f/8). Ideal for those who enjoy portrait work and that film-tonal detail. A vintage lens well worth collecting.
