Collector-grade vintage lens. The glass is flawless with no scratches. Focus and aperture glide silky-smooth like a new lens. Internal elements are tight with no rattle. The exterior body is in like-new condition — no scratches, no scuff marks, no paint loss.
How this lens renders
The Minolta Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.4 stands out among its peers for its compelling value and notable bokeh. Shooters appreciate its generally smooth and unobtrusive out-of-focus areas, with the 6-7 blade aperture providing reasonably circular shapes when stopped down. Compared to a typical fast fifty of its era, this lens offers characteristically warm colors with an amber bias that flatters skin tones, although blues lean toward cyan. It delivers excellent center sharpness even wide open, peaking between f/5.6 and f/8. However, a known limitation is its moderate to pronounced vignetting at wider apertures, though this diminishes significantly when stopped down.
