Inspector’s condition notes

Lens is in good condition and fully functional. There are light scratches from normal use around the lens body. The optical elements are clean with no scratches. The focus and aperture ring operate smoothly, just like a new lens. Internal components are tight with no rattling or movement inside. The external body shows cosmetic wear, with easily noticeable scratches and paint loss throughout the lens body.

How this lens renders

Compared to the similarly specced 50mm, the Konica Hexanon 57mm f/1.4 offers a slightly longer focal length, a tighter angle of view, and flattering facial proportions for portraits. At f/1.4 wide open, the contrast softens a touch with a gentle, creamy tonality. Stop down to f/2.8 and center-frame sharpness comes through with crisp, dense detail. At f/8, it's sharp across the frame all the way to the edges—comfortable for landscapes or work that demands high resolution. With its f/1.4 aperture, this lens melts backgrounds smoothly. The bokeh is creamy and well-behaved, delivering a depth of field that clearly separates the subject from the background. Wide open, it produces a gentle vignetting that adds dimensionality to the image, fading as you stop down. A practical vintage lens option for portrait shooters seeking that gentle, vintage tonality. Well worth adding to the collection.
